"Each One,
Teach One."

— African proverb  ·  The foundation of everything we do

Each 1 Teach One Dance Series cultivates spaces where dancers, choreographers, and aspiring teachers educate one another, share skills, strengthen bonds, and uplift the cultural identity of The Bronx. We bring inclusive and accessible movement arts to under-resourced communities by eliminating barriers to training, professional development, and overall community well-being through free & donation-based workshops.

Education is Communal

Learning belongs to everyone — not just those who can afford it.

Skill-Sharing is Power

When we teach each other, we build something no institution can take away.

Art is a Living Lineage

Culture moves forward when we protect it, pass it on, and let it evolve.

Rooted in the
Bronx.

Founded in 2009 at Herbert H. Lehman College by Maurice C. Dean, E1TO reimagined the dance space — breaking down both the literal and figurative walls, and becoming a gathering ground for creativity, self-expression, and collaboration.

Activating both indoor and outdoor venues across NYC, we expand public access to high-quality arts education, strengthen the cultural fabric of the Bronx borough, and ensure the legacy of dance remains vibrant and inclusive for future generations.

E1TO is not only a place of training for dancers — it's training for teachers, fellowship amongst dancers, and exposure to styles a dancer may not typically encounter. We go further together.

His vision created a living legacy that outlasted his time. We carry it forward.
